[Letters Never Sent] L

L,

Hey there, you! How are you doing? Is your mental health okay? Sometimes it’s hard to tell. I see you every day, and when I look into your eyes, I can see the stress. You try to be strong, but I know it’s hard. Things have been tough for you over the years.

I’ve seen you cry more times than I care to count. You try to hide your true feelings, but you let yourself out when we’re alone. You worry about your family. You’ve told me you don’t understand how you can make so much money and still feel like you’re right on the edge of poverty.

The pressure you’re feeling is something we all go through. You’re not alone, even when it feels like you are. There are people around you who love you.

I’m here for you—in your darkest hours, you can lean on me. I know sometimes it seems like there’s no one you can trust. But you can trust me. I’ll always be here.

You’re doing great, kid. Keep it up.

Always,

C
