Blessed light! She could not believe she’d finally gotten her freedom. Years of swirling misery, and torment, trapped in the abyss of her unstable mind.
Her pain washed over her, day in and day out. The burden of a situation, she couldn’t control drove her deeper into the darkness. At some point along the way, she receded so far into herself, that she became a shell of her former self.
She stopped eating, losing a ton of weight. All the things she loved to do, she stopped doing. For months on end, she simply worked and slept.
Every time her family would beg for attention, she simply turned them down. She hated her life. Day after day, she watched her family slip through her fingers, like drops of water from a leaky bucket.
Eventually, she found herself alone. Everyone and everything she loved was gone. Silence! She both loved and hated it. She could finally be alone as she wished, but noise meant life, and now there was none.
Her days blurred together. She didn’t think she’d make it to see the light she so missed.
Night after night, she wept into her pillow. Her loneliness consumed her. She couldn’t understand how to end her misery. The weight of it felt as though it was crushing her. She just wanted the pain to go away.
She tried returning to religion, but her cynicism made it too difficult for her to commit to it. Tarot was another method she sought, and somehow it seemed to open a door in her mind she’d never known was there. She was willing to try anything, she just wanted to be happy again.
Finally, when all seemed lost, she awoke to the blessed light warming her face. The burden of her depression was gone. She felt nothing, but elation as she suddenly began to rediscover all that had been lost to her.
She didn’t understand it, but somehow peace washed over her. She was finally able to move forward in her life.
The light stayed with her, guiding her for all the rest of her days.
