What would you do if you won the lottery?
Oh, man. I think about this sometimes.
First of all, I don’t actually play the lottery that much. Usually only when the payout is ridiculously large. I do feel like I have a better chance of being eaten by a shark, while getting struck by lightning, and Force Choked by a Death Star full of Darth Vader clones, than winning the lottery.
That said, if I did win, here’s some of things I would do:
- Invest – First and foremost, I would hire a financial advisor to help me invest at least twenty-five percent of my winnings. Maybe more. Making that money last as long as possible is priority one.
- Pay Off Debt – I’m sure this goes without saying for anyone. I want to be debt free.
- Stable Housing – Who wants to pay rent or a mortgage? Not me. I’d more than likely buy land somewhere and have a house built how I want on it. Everything fully paid, so all I have to worry about is property tax for the rest of my life.
- Vehicle Acquisition – I want James Bond’s Aston Martin DB Mark III as a show car. Not saying I’d never drive it, but it wouldn’t be my everyday car. For day to day, I’d probably get the newest model Nissan Rogue.
- Travel – There’s so many places in the world I want to see. A short list includes Japan, Ireland, London, and Italy.
- Tick Some Bucket List Boxes – Enjoy some other things I’ve always wanted, such as skydiving, and getting my pilot’s license.
These are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head. Kind of a boring list, to be honest, but nowhere near extensive. I know there’s so much more I would do. It’s fun to fantasize about winning the lottery sometimes, but I’m a realist at heart. Hard work and dedication have helped me achieve so much already.
